OUR MISSION
The U.S.-Arab Leadership Program (USALP) offers an opportunity to promote mutual understanding and forge business, government, academic and personal links among American program delegates and their counterparts in the Arab world.

USALP will build economic and social bridges through increased exposure of the Arab world to key American community and business leaders from a broad range of professional and personal backgrounds. Working in close collaboration with local communities in the United States and Arab countries, USALP will also increase the appreciation of U.S. citizens for the culture and history of the region. As a result, USALP delegates will be well placed to act as a bridge of understanding and help strengthen U.S.-Arab relations while raising awareness of the Arab-American community’s leadership role in the United States.

USALP ORGANIZATION
The U.S.-Arab Leadership Program is a non-profit 501(c)(3) private sector organization funded by corporations and foundations in the United States and in the Middle East and supported by participating Arab governments.

USALP is modeled after the U.S. Department of State’s successful International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The IVLP was designed to build mutual understanding between the United States and other countries through carefully designed visits that reflect the participant’s professional interests while establishing long-term relationships.

USALP staff will design and implement seven to fourteen day professional programs for American delegates to travel to the Middle East. Theme based delegations will be selected by designated regional Arab Leadership Councils funded through USALP grants. The Leadership Councils will work closely with existing community based professional organizations that have an institutional knowledge of leaders and influencers within their respective communities. Through cultural, economic, social, and thematic programming, USALP will advance mutual understanding while developing strong economic and social bonds between Arabs and Americans.

STRATEGIC LEADERS FUND
Leadership Program (USALP). By contributing resources to the Strategic Leaders Fund (SLF), individuals, businesses, foundations and organizations, representing the most visionary private sector leadership in the United States and the Arab world, will actively impact the Program’s direction and management.

The Strategic Leaders Fund will engage corporate and foundation groups wishing to influence U.S.-Arab relations while promoting economic development opportunities. The SLF seeks to engage a wide range of organizations in the U.S. and the Arab world in the Program, ensuring the grassroots support that is critically important to building bridges of understanding and creating opportunities for professional synergies. Corporations, foundations, academic institutions, religious organizations, local businesses, and community governments will all have a role in providing program resources, advisers, delegates and funding partners.
